At Chelmsford County High School for Girls, we are committed to equipping our students with the skills they need to thrive academically and beyond. To support this, we partner with Elevate Education, a multi-award-winning organisation that has transformed study skills teaching in schools across the UK and internationally. Since its launch in the UK in 2013, Elevate Education has worked with hundreds of schools, delivering high-impact workshops designed to improve student performance through practical, research-based strategies. Their approach focuses on behavioural change, ensuring students not only learn effective techniques but also apply them consistently.
Elevate Education’s workshops are engaging and interactive, delivered by young, relatable presenters who understand the challenges students face. Each session is carefully timed to coincide with key stages in a young person’s academic life, providing practical tools that students can implement appropriately. The programme is supported by ongoing resources for students, staff, and parents, ensuring that the benefits extend well beyond the workshop itself.
At CCHS, students in Year 7 begin their journey with a Study Skills Workshop, where they learn the foundations of effective study habits, including organisation, note-taking, and active learning strategies. These skills help them transition smoothly into secondary school. In Year 11, students take part in an Exam Preparation session, which focuses on revision planning, stress management, and exam techniques to boost confidence and performance as they approach their GCSEs. For our Sixth Form students in Year 12, the Study Sensei session provides advanced strategies for independent learning, time management, and maintaining balance during A-Level studies.
To complement these student workshops, Elevate Education also offers Parent Webinars, designed to help families support their child’s learning journey at home. These sessions provide practical advice on creating effective study environments, encouraging positive habits, and guiding students through the challenges of exams and independent study. By involving parents, Elevate ensures that the strategies taught in school are reinforced at home, creating a consistent and supportive framework for success.
