Sunday 8th March marks the 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day. International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.
Our new Senior Prefects delivered the whole-school assemblies last week, reflecting on International Women’s Day and how we, as a school community, can continue to play our part as a girls’ school. The Senior Prefects highlighted that 2026 marks the 120th anniversary of the first girls to attend CCHS and the 110th anniversary of the first CCHS Alumna (Winifred Picking) to complete her university studies. At lunchtime today, they have arranged a whole school initiative to capture the reflections and ambitions of this current generation of remarkable CCHS students.
