We are well aware that the Ancient Greek and Roman civilisations were patriarchal and not hugely conducive to the promotion and success of women. Therefore, those women who did excel in their field are even more deserving of our attention and admiration including: Hypatia, Julia Felix, Sulpicia and Sappho.
