At Chelmsford County High School for Girls, we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive and reach their full potential. Our Pupil Premium pledge is our commitment to you and your child: to provide the right support, resources and opportunities so that no barrier stands in the way of success.
What is Pupil Premium?
Your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding if they fall into one of these groups:
- Children entitled to Free School Meals (or have been at any point in the last 6 years)
- Children in care or who have previously been in care
- Children with a parent serving in the armed forces
From September 2026, not all children who receive Free School Meals are eligible for Pupil Premium funding. Children who receive Free School Meals only because of Universal Credit are not eligible for Pupil Premium.
Year 7 Admissions
Admission to Chelmsford County High School for Girls is primarily based on an Entrance Test and we want every student to feel confident and happy that they should take this test.
Applicants in receipt of Pupil Premium are prioritised in our oversubscription criteria, up to 30 places are available for students scoring up to 5 marks below an eligible score.
Our chart below shows how CCHS support students before and after the Entrance Test.
