Our school community is very sad to announce that one of its most highly respected ‘old girls’ passed away peacefully on Monday 9th January 2017.  We will miss her regular visits and contributions to the school. Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.

Elizabeth: A mod in 1960s Chelmsford

Elizabeth Woodcraft attended Chelmsford County High School for Girls in the 1960s, she became a barrister and stood-up for Greenham Common protesters, anti-apartheid campaigners and striking miners.  Prior to her career, she was a Mod in the 1960s. National Schools’ Swimming Championship – Nov 2016

Congratulations to our Swimming Team who made the finals of the National Schools’ Championships on 19th November 2016, coming 7th in the Inter Girls Freestyle and 5th in the Medley, which is a great achievement for a state school.

In Memoriam

We were sadden to learn of the passing of: Anne Barbara Thacker, nee Pollard, after a short battle with cancer last week.  Anne taught Chemistry at CCHS until 1979.  Her funeral will be at Exeter Crematorium on 19th September 2016 at 1pm.
