There are two categories of Free School Meals (FSM):
- Targeted FSM, covering pupils who are in households in receipt of Universal Credit with annual household earnings of £7,400 or less. This category is eligible for Pupil Premium Funding.
- Expanded FSM, covering pupils who do not qualify for targeted FSM, but who are in households receiving Universal Credit. This category does not attract Pupil Premium Funding (unless in receipt of the former FSM system in the prior 6 years)
