Subjects

French

The chief aim is to develop the ability of students to understand and communicate in both the spoken and written language. In addition, pupils are encouraged to increase their powers of expression and to widen their outlook through contact with the way of life, thought and idiom of another nation. Visits to France are therefore encouraged and organised by the school. Whenever possible lessons should show the practical use of the language and be enjoyable!

GCSE

The OCR syllabus covers the 5 Contexts of the National Curriculum. The course aims to develop students' ability to understand and communicate effectively in French. It also aims to encourage students to develop an understanding of the grammar and syntax of the French language.
