Drama - Sixth Form

This course will encourage students to develop their interest and enjoyment of Drama and Theatre, both through experience as audience members and through their development of Drama/Theatre skills within their own theatre practice. It will also extend the candidate's knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the social and cultural purposes and contexts of Drama and Theatre. It is hoped that the student will then be able to respond critically and sensitively to a range of drama and theatre in performances.

In the AS course, candidates should develop as confident and independent interpreters of drama and theatre. They should assimilate theatrical concepts through a range of practical and analytical exploration and this should also involve the acquisition and application of appropriate terminology. They should recognise the importance of both discipline and co-operation within practical drama and theatre projects.

The A level (A2) course should broaden and deepen the knowledge, skills and understanding acquired in the AS.
