Commemoration Day

Centenary

On Wednesday May 2nd 2007 the whole school joined in with two unique events:

Balloon release

Balloon release

There were nearly 400 beautiful balloons released on our Commemoration day and the one that was reported to have travelled the farthest belonged to Amy Cleaves in 10G. Her prizes, provided by the independent travel company, Travel Counsellors, were presented to her in assembly by Mrs. Chapman. The finder was Ms. Gutteridge who was out jogging on Remenham Hill near her home in Henley-on-Thames. The wind was obviously a north-westerly that day as we had two others reported found in the Marlow area - they belonged to Mrs. Howland and Mrs. Parsons.

Many thanks to everyone who joined in the spirit of the day and helped created another special memory of a unique time at CCHS.

Centenary Cake Competition

Earlier in the day, the students entered House Cake Competition with a record number of cakes having been baked. The winners were:

1st Place - Kimberley Towler Year 12

2nd Place - Steffi Radcliffe Year 9

3rd Place - Georgia Herron Year 8

4th Place - Hiba Khan Year 9

Following House Cakes, all students then enjoyed individual parties in their own form rooms and later in the day the whole school congregated outside for the balloon release. So as you can see, a great day was had by all.
