A photo of Claire Jackson

Sixth form art student, Claire Jackson is pictured with her most recent work.

Her watercolour of the exterior from of Chelmsford County High School for girls was chosen to be featured in a range of collectors' items to mark the school's Centenary.

A keen photographer, Claire usually prefers modern art that makes a clear and often shocking statement but here she has chosen a traditional view for the notelets and tea towels.

Two CCHS teachers, the late Mrs. Rowena Templeton and current head of art Mrs. Maxine Saunders, have been an inspiration and guide to Claire who achieved an A* at GCSE and has an A at AS in Art. She has had her interested in many aspects of art stimulated by school trips to Vienna and Budapest in October 2005 and Florence and Venice during this last half term. She hopes to read History of Art at Warwick University and pursue a career at one of the top auction houses.

Originally from West Hanningfield where she attended St. Peters Primary school, Claire's family now live in Billericay and it was at the Billericay Enquirer that she had her work experience in Summer 2005.
