Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the word-for-word copying of material from another student, a book, teacher notes, the internet or any other source without making it clear who the author is, and attempting to pass it off as your own work.

This is cheating. At examination level, if you are found to have done this in any work submitted for assessment, your whole examination entry will be disqualified. This applies also to students who allow their work to be copied.

Teachers are required to check and to vouch that there has been no plagiarism in students' work. If you are asked about this, this does not amount to an accusation. Teachers will explain to you how to quote legitimately from another source.
