Take Your Daughter to Work Day

Current students

To widen the understanding and appreciation of the working world beyond the curriculum careers lessons, we would like to instigate a 'Take Your Daughter to Work' scheme for the current Year 10 students and incorporate the scheme in future Careers programmes.

The success of the day relies on clear planning and guidelines for all participants; to that end I would ask that all paper work is completed and returned by the deadlines set and I will ensure that all queries and problems are dealt with efficiently.

It is proposed that your daughter will accompany and work shadow a parent throughout a normal working day. She will travel to and from work with that parent and be covered by the 'Health and Safety' practices of the organisation that she is visiting.

She will be provided with a work booklet (Take Your Daughter to Work Booklet) that she will complete during the day to enable her to compare her experience with other students to enable a database of the various career opportunities to be set up as a careers resource for the school.

We do understand that for a variety of reasons it may not be possible for your daughter to accompany you and to ensure she has equality of opportunity I will arrange a placement for her work shadowing in a reliable business organisation in London. Permission will have to be granted for her independent travel for the day and transport costs will have to be met.
